These litte bagel bites come in several different varieties from savory to sweet. As you can see, they really are "mini." The serving size is one, but I chose to have two because I wanted a more hearty breakfast. These little bagel bites are found in the freezer section near the waffles. They are frozen, and the directions recommend thawing them out in the refrigerator and then baking them for about 7 minutes.
I followed the directions, but I wasn't preparing them all at once. I baked just two at a time and will prepare the remaining bagels this week. They were crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, just like the box promises. I did put one in the microwave just to see how they would come out, and they were gummy and not very good at all. Not recommended.
These were very tasty and the filling was plentiful. I was pleasantly surprised at the texture, which was definitely very bagel-like. The filling was good and not too salty. I recommend letting them cool a bit before eating so that you don't burn your mouth on the filling.
The box states that each bagel contains 5 grams of protein, which isn't too bad for such a carb-heavy item. Of course, these are not nutrition powerhouses. Personally, I view this as a once in a while treat while generally going for something with more fiber. That's just me. I think these would be great served at a brunch or even as a side for soup. I'd definitely buy these again and I might just try a different flavor.
